OUR STORY
Day Electric was formed after owner, Phillip Day, recognized a need in the solar industry to provide quality electricians to a customer base that continued to expand and evolve. We have seen the solar industry change from small, simple systems to complex utility-scale power plants. We grew along with the solar industry as it grew and met the many challenges along the way. We continue to do so every day and learn from each project we complete.
After becoming a nation's leader in solar maintenance and repair, the business expanded, moving its home base to Central Virginia.
Day Electric is staffed with some of the industry's most qualified and experienced technicians, electricians, managers, and executives. What makes us different is our hands-on approach to working with each of our clients. Founder, Phillip Day, is very involved in each and every project and brings his expertise as a Master Electrician and many years of experience in the solar industry to each project. We solve complex problems as a team and take pride in the work that we do. We approach our client relationships like a small business, but we have grown to be a national leader in solar and electrical services because of our team's combined experience and resources, impeccable safety record, and dedication to our clients.

Phillip Day
Founder & Master Electrician
Phillip is a Solar Industry veteran with over 30 years of electrical and solar experience. Having worked with many solar companies, he made the decision over a decade ago to start his own company so he could bring his knowledge and experience directly to his customers.
In 2018, he expanded Day Electric to both the east and west coasts to meet the expanding O&M needs nationally. As a Master Electrician with many years of field experience, he understands the needs of his clients and problem-solves with his team daily. He takes a hands-on approach to running Day Electric, so he can provide his clients with quality service and repairs.
Phillip has developed a company that understands the value of strategic business relationships, with a focus on quality and safe work processes.

Wayne Williford
VP of Operations
Wayne is a seasoned technical expert with skills across a wide range of industries with more than 30 years of experience in testing, deploying, and supporting advanced technologies and complex mechanical systems. He has held positions as V.P of Commercial O&M at Stellar Energy, SunSystem Technology, Director of O&M Business Development at REC Commercial Solar, V.P of P.V Services Group at Soligent, and Director of Service and Warranty at SPG Solar. He has managed teams of electricians and technicians responsible for servicing and maintaining thousands of commercial and utility solar PV systems and facilities.
Prior to entering into commercial solar, Wayne enjoyed over 2 decades at Lockheed Martin, which included support and management of numerous Space and Marine systems programs.
